REGENERATION & CONSERVATION OF THE WILD KOALA POPULATION
The iconic and adorable koala is now listed as ENDANGERED in many States in Australia. Now facing the real threat of extinction. Some experts put the number of koalas in the wild as low as 40,000 in the whole of Australia.* Less than a hundred years ago millions of koalas were destroyed every year for their fur. Today the plight of koalas is dire, with predictions they could be extinct in the wild by 2040! (read recent article)
The LIVING with KOALAS education, regeneration & conservation programme includes positive, practical measures dealing with the main threat to koalas in the wild on the mid-north coast of NSW:

Programme initiatives will cover AWARENESS & EDUCATION campaigns, talks & school visits | Koala SPOTTING & TRACKING | Koala food tree NURTURING programme | Kar Kards with emergency wildlife care numbers….
Fund-raising events & sponsorships will also raise money for FOOD TREE planting, RESEARCH & LOBBYING.
