“Born and raised in Perth Western Australia I grew up with a love of animals, nature and the West Australian coastline. Art has always been in my life in some way shape or form but mostly in the form of crafting and quilting although I had never painted before, I had always felt the desire to learn how to do it. Everything I have learnt about painting has been entirely self taught, through books, YouTube, searching the Internet and with a lot of trial and error thrown in. When it comes to the different art mediums that I use there is absolutely no discrimination, acrylics, watercolours, ink, texture pastes, metallics, soft Pastels and iir brushing are just some of the materials that are in regular use in my studio and I love how the mixing of mediums can bring life to my creations.” Bec Bartell
