100 Artworks for a Koala entry: Title: ‘ Hope for Koalas ‘
Size: W 21.5cm x 24cm unframed | Medium: colour pencils – Faber Castell Polychromos on Bristol Vellum
“The bushfires across Australia [2019 / 2020] have been devastating for the Koala populations, and I wanted to create a piece that reflected the special nature that people have come to learn about our beloved native marsupial. It’s a myth that Koala’s ‘get drunk’ off gum leaves, for they are actually getting their much needed sleep to help digest the 1 kilogram they consume each night! Together, we can help these beautiful creatures live a happy and long existence among the trees.” Aleesha Barton
