Artist bio
Minjung Oh was born in South Korea. she majored in piano, music, in Korea and moved to Australia in 2001. From 2010 she began to hone her drawing and painting skills and eventually found a passion to draw Australian native plants. She joined BASQ in 2014 to learn more about Australian native environments. This led her to connect with the Korea Botanical Arts Cooperative Society and engage in various other exhibition activities in China and Taiwan.
Usually she uses watercolour painting techniques in her artworks, but she has also strived to express Australian native flora and fauna in traditional Korean folkart – with calligraphy ink on traditional Korean paper and frames. Min also works as an illustrator and designer. Expressing, recording and preserving Australia’s beautiful native plants and wildlife in new creative ways, is Min’s current passion. As well as hew “Awesome Koala Friends’ digital art and toys.
